Each work from this section has the same name - Portal. This name carries not so much artistic as philosophical and spiritual meaning. The portal is similar to the mandala.
The universality of the circle, which is the basis for any mandala, is the foundation for my reflections.
Looking at the picture, I do not think about other mandalas - which are part of some religions; I don't think about religions at all, I look at this circle, this portal, and just think about it.
Initially, I wanted to create “some kind of unusual circle”. A circle, if we are not talking about a disc, not about a two-dimensional circle, will mean movement. Tunnel. But I still thought about the point, more precisely, about the center of the circle, as if I was repelled from the center right away.
When we look at one point, our consciousness rests. We do this sometimes, on autopilot. The shape of a circle is the same as a point, it limits the space through which the gaze should wander, while the consciousness will rest. You look at the circle, just relax, or tune in to an entertaining monologue with yourself, heading into the depths of the subconscious through the center, through the energies of the picture, as if through a portal.
Moreover, each such portal is not closed, and the energy is concentrated in different parts of the canvas; after all, this is not a tunnel, but a mysterious circle shape that underlies.
